Privacy policy

Shelf-ish is designed to keep as much as possible on your device.

This policy explains what Shelf-ish collects, what it does not collect, and how privacy-related questions or requests are handled.

Information you choose to save

Shelf-ish stores the clips you save in the app, which may include text, links, files, screenshots, images, locations, email addresses, phone numbers, audio notes, code snippets, tags, and related metadata such as timestamps.

How that information is used

Your saved content is used to provide the app’s core features, such as capture, search, previews, tagging, sync, and optional intelligence features like summaries, transcripts, or code assistance.

Data Shelf-ish does not collect

Shelf-ish does not use third-party analytics, does not build advertising profiles, does not sell personal information, and does not require a separate Shelf-ish account to use the app.

iCloud and Apple services

If iCloud sync is enabled and available, Shelf-ish may store or sync user content using Apple’s CloudKit services. Apple may process data as required to provide those services under Apple’s own terms and privacy policies.

Link previews and optional downloads

When you preview a link, the app may request metadata or preview images from the linked site or related services. Optional model downloads may also occur when needed for features such as image analysis or transcription support.

On-device intelligence

Shelf-ish is designed to use on-device intelligence where the required system capabilities are available. If that changes in a future version, this policy will be updated to reflect it clearly.

Data retention and deletion

Clips may expire automatically based on the user’s settings unless they are pinned or otherwise kept. Users can also delete clips manually at any time. If CloudKit sync is enabled, deletion may take time to propagate across devices.

Sensitive information

Because clips may contain sensitive information, Shelf-ish includes features intended to conceal certain content until the user chooses to reveal it. Users should still take care when deciding what to save.

Children’s privacy

Shelf-ish is not directed to children, and the app is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated.
