This policy explains what Shelf-ish stores, what it does not collect, and how privacy-related questions or requests are handled.
Shelf-ish stores the clips you choose to save, which may include text, links, files, screenshots, images, locations, contact details, audio recordings, code snippets, tags, snippet keywords, AI-generated summaries, and related metadata such as timestamps. This content is stored in the app’s private data store on your Apple device.
Your saved content is used only to provide features you use, including capture, search, previews, tagging, expiry, optional iCloud sync, and optional intelligence features such as summaries, transcription, image analysis, or code assistance.
Shelf-ish does not collect or store personal information on servers we control. There is no Shelf-ish backend, third-party analytics, telemetry service, crash-reporting service, advertising profile, or sale of personal information.
If iCloud is enabled and available for Shelf-ish, your clips may sync between your own Apple devices through Apple’s CloudKit service and your iCloud account. Shelf-ish does not operate a separate sync backend or have access to your iCloud account. Apple handles that data under its privacy policy.
Shelf-ish uses the network only for features that need it: CloudKit sync, fetching metadata and preview images directly from links you save, and downloading optional Apple on-device model packs. Saving a clip to Reminders writes to Apple’s Reminders database, which you may separately have configured to sync with iCloud.
Summaries, action-item extraction, code explanation and refactoring, image analysis, OCR, and automatic tagging run on your device using Apple frameworks. Shelf-ish does not send clip content to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or another third-party AI service.
Depending on the features you enable, Shelf-ish may use iCloud and Reminders or request access to the microphone, speech recognition, screen recording for system-audio capture, or Input Monitoring and Input Control for Quick Paste, Selection Capture, and Text Expansion. You can manage protected access in System Settings. Shelf-ish requests it only when a related feature needs it.
Clips expire according to your chosen retention settings unless you pin or otherwise keep them. You can copy, share, change, or delete individual clips in the app. When CloudKit sync is active, those changes sync to your other devices and follow Apple’s iCloud data lifecycle.
Clipboard content can be sensitive. Shelf-ish can exclude selected applications, pause monitoring, and conceal likely sensitive content until you choose to reveal it. You remain in control of what you save and which optional features you enable.
Shelf-ish is not directed at children under 13. The app has no account system or developer-operated data store, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If Shelf-ish materially changes how it handles data, this page and its “Last updated” date will be updated. Material changes will also be highlighted in release notes.
